Actress Jennifer Lawrence is celebrating her best leading actress Oscar nomination for her role in the gritty film “Winter’s Bone.” The 20-year-old actress shared what she was doing when she first heard the news early Tuesday (January 25, 2011) morning.

“I was in my living room, looking at the TV. Standing around with my friends and family. And, I was just kind of shocked, because, you know, like the second that they said my name my life changed.”

Unknown a year ago, Lawrence finds herself in the company of veterans Nicole Kidman in “Rabbit Hole,” Natalie Portman in “Black Swan,” Annette Bening in “The Kids Are All Right,” and Michelle Williams in “Blue Valentine” for the category. “It’s such a tremendous honor, and to just to be in the same sentence with the women who I’m in the same category with, that I’ve looked up to for so long. It’s unbelievable.”

Lawrence plays a poor Ozark teenager facing eviction as she struggles to keep her family together as she journeys through her drug-infested community to find her missing father in the dark drama. The Louisville, Kentucky native says the role reflects very little of her personality except for her tendency to be stubborn at times.

“I think a character should always be completely created. You know, it can be kind of draining to draw completely from yourself.” Lawrencecited the performances of legendary actresses who have inspired her work.

“Love Sissy Spacek’s role in ‘Badlands.’ I’ve loved that. Gena Rowlands, I mean I couldn’t do it, but Gena Rowlands performance in ‘A Woman Under the Influence,’ is just the best. It’s the greatest.”

She also named Charlize Theron and Lucille Ball among the female performers she admires. Lawrence starred opposite Theron in director Guillermo Arriaga’s directorial debut “The Burning Plain” in 2008. “Winter’s Bone” earned four Oscar nominations, including best picture.

Who would you like to work with next?
I’ve always loved George Clooney and I have huge amounts of respect for him. I also got to meet Jennifer Lawrence recently and I spent a while with her because she’s the neighbour of one of my friends in LA who directed me in The Young Doctor’s Notebook. She’s awesome. She’s another one of those people that gives you faith that this industry doesn’t necessarily turn people into monsters. She’s the most famous person in the world and she’s still really, really cool and normal. It’s like, if you are a monster then you’ll be tolerated more in this industry than you would most other places. In terms of directors, me and Juno [Temple] had a conversation last night about who are the top five directors that we would actually shank someone to work with. I think mine ended up being Quentin Tarantino, the Coen brothers, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson and then we went to all time shanking list, so like Sidney Lumet and Powell and Pressburger but [laughs] you’ve got to set your terms. Can you time travel? [Laughs]

On October 23, ‘The Hunger Games’ representatives announced that ‘The Hunger Games’ cast would no longer be making a stop in South Korea to promote the upcoming film ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1’.

They stated, “The ‘Hunger Games’ Asia tour, originally scheduled for November and featuring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and director Francis Lawrence, has canceled its visit to Korea.

Is there a reason why though? ‘The Hunger Games’ representatives promised that they will reveal the reasons at a later date, saying, “Distributor Lionsgate Films will be making a more detailed announcement on the situation later.

Sarah Hyland might have a lot of friends in Hollywood, but there is one star she would love to become friends with. The Modern Family actress admitted that she really wants to be friends with Jennifer Lawrence.

While attending an event in New York City on Tuesday Sarah revealed that she thinks J-Law would be good friends with her. “I also think it would be really great to work with Jennifer Lawrence at some point,” Sarah told Cosmopolitan.com.

“I feel like we have very similar personalities … I have a bunch of mutual friends in common with her, and we’ve tried to hook up before at award shows, but she always ends up going home and eating pizza, and I’m like, ‘Damn it, I want to do that!’ But I’m not Jennifer Lawrence — I have to stay.”
